INSTALLATION

The LUMICKS C-Trap Dymo300 was installed in the University Imaging Centers UIC  at the University of Minnesota in March 2026. The instrument was acquired through the NIH S10 Shared Instrumentation Program (1S10OD038156). If you publish data collected on the C-Trap, please remember to acknowledge this grant!

The C-Trap combines optical tweezers, confocal fluorescence microscopy, and microfluidics to let us watch—and manipulate—individual molecular interactions in real time. We have already collected some exciting pilot data (and had a lot of fun doing it). We’ll use this page to share new applications, experiments, and biological questions being tackled with the instrument as the C-Trap community at Minnesota grows.
